Questions about our rates
What does the amount of a quote depend on?
Four variables, in order of weight: the language combination, the subject field, the word count and the date you want. A round trip between French and German, which we handle daily because this country's records exist in both languages, does not price like a combination very few sworn professionals practise. The unit of account is the source word for a plain translation and the 250-word page for a sworn translation, every page begun being payable. Segments the translation memory recovers from an earlier file drop out of the full rate.
Does the quote cost anything?
No, and it commits you to nothing. Drop your document into the form: the firm amount comes back within the working hour. A phone photograph will do as long as it is legible, a scanner is not needed.
How is the work paid for?
By bank transfer. Our details reach you as soon as you accept the quote, and production begins when the funds arrive. Companies, public bodies and firms that send us files regularly can ask for a single invoice at month end.
Can the amount agreed still change?
No. An accepted quote is firm and inclusive of all taxes: translation, revision and delivery are inside it. Only two lines can be added, urgency and legalisation of the signature, and both appear before you approve. The applicable tax treatment is set out in our terms and conditions.
Can express work be ordered over a weekend?
Yes, Sundays and public holidays included. A sworn translation is usually ready within 24 hours: the signed PDF arrives by email, and the stamped copy will go out by registered post the same day. The surcharge is given to you before any approval: +50 % for 24 h, +75 % for 12 h, +100 % for 6 h.
Will my accountant be able to work with the invoice?
Yes. An itemised invoice is sent by email after every assignment: the service described, the file reference, the full legal particulars. Your accountant will have nothing further to ask us for.
