Everything runs by message, from the first photo to delivery. There is no office to visit, and at every step you know what your file will cost.
Form, email, telephone: the channel makes no difference at all. For a translation, a sharp phone photo is enough to set a price; for an interpreting assignment, the date, the language and the venue will do.
Four pieces of information, not one more: how much, by when, sworn or plain, and the name of the language an interpreter has already accepted. The document costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
On the agreed day the signed file sits in your inbox. The stamped copy follows by registered post as soon as an office insists on it, here or abroad. The interpreter, meanwhile, has read the file before walking into the room.
We know what the population offices of the sixteen communes, the notaries' offices and the District Court registries actually check. That spares you refusals and second visits.
In the Grand Duchy a record may have been drawn up in French or in German depending on the commune and on the period, the courts work in French, the administration replies in all three national languages, and English has established itself as the working language of Kirchberg and the financial centre. So before translating a single word we ask one question: who will read this document, and in which language does that office want it? A flawless translation into German is worthless at a counter expecting French. For residents from Portugal, Italy or the Balkans the same question arises in reverse, and it is settled the same way.
A planned merger, a prospectus not yet published, a compliance note: many texts are only worth something for as long as they stay put. Two people see your file, the project manager and the assigned linguist, and every contributor in the network has signed a confidentiality undertaking. Hosting is European and GDPR-compliant; one word from you and everything disappears. Would you rather use your own template agreement? Send it before the files: it will be signed before we open them.
Putting a stamp on a translation is not open to everyone: you must be sworn and listed by the Ministry of Justice, and the person who signs answers for what they wrote. Upstream, the house rule does not move: the first draft goes to a linguist writing in their mother tongue, the full review to somebody else. If the document also needs the signature legalised, we handle that, and the quote states what it adds to the deadline.
You will explain your case once. The same person follows the file from end to end, which matters most on long proceedings and on documents that arrive in waves. On figures: the quote goes out within the hour and it is firm. A denser text than expected, or a meeting that runs over, do not land on your invoice. An agreed amount is not reopened.
Across the sixteen communes we serve, from Luxembourg to Diekirch, the interpreter's journey costs you not one kilometre. And a document to be translated is handled remotely, from anywhere at all.

“A German supplier delivered a complete line. Manuals and technical file came out in French with the terminology holding steady from one document to the next.”
Georges S.

“I opened my shop towards France and towards Germany in the same quarter. Product pages and terms of sale followed, each handed to a different person.”
Anabela G.

“Transport papers, declarations, correspondence with forwarders: it runs daily. We have one single contact and nobody explains the background twice.”
Patrick M.

“A tenant arriving from London wanted his lease in English, annexes included. I received it laid out like the original, which saved me an evening's work.”
Laura B.
Estate agency, Hesperange
“We file accounts for clients who read neither French nor German. The accounting headings stayed consistent from one financial year to the next.”
Isabelle L.

“Three languages on the same website, and I did not want copy that smells of translation. The tone was rebuilt, not transcribed.”
Yves N.

“We receive parents who speak none of our teaching languages. An interpreter in the meeting stops the child from acting as go-between.”

“A regulation to publish in two languages, with a date that could not shift. The text arrived the day before, already reviewed, and we published on time.”

Communal administration, Mersch
“A Ukrainian patient turned up on a Sunday morning. The interpreter came on the phone line and the consultation went ahead instead of being put off.”
Céline H.
Medical practice, Ettelbruck
“A hearing at the justice of the peace, and Portuguese is the only language I truly follow. Someone sworn was there, and I knew what was said about my case.”
Fernanda L.
Private client, Diekirch
“Our labels and technical sheets go out to several countries. The mandatory wording was checked item by item, not merely translated.”
Jacques O.

“Procedural documents to translate fast, in an uncommon pairing. The stated deadline held, and that was the only thing I had asked for.”
Thomas W.

“Paper submitted in English, abstract in French, funding bid in German. Three registers, three different revisers: exactly what was needed.”
Mehdi B.

“Pre-contractual documents and the annual report, with a fixed publication date. Nothing leaked and nothing slipped from one quarter into the next.”

“A claim to assess, a policyholder who speaks only Italian. The amicable assessment went ahead with an interpreter and the file closed without dispute.”

Your case not here? Describe it in the form: you will get a precise answer, not a link to a general page.
The answer depends not on the document but on whoever is going to receive it. A commune, a court registry, a notary's office, a consulate or a degree recognition service will accept only the sworn version: stamp, handwritten signature and statement of conformity from a translator listed by the Ministry of Justice, who assumes liability by signing. An internal procedure, a contract between partners or a website need none of that. The language work is identical in both cases; what changes is the standing of the document before an authority. Tell us which office it is meant for, and we will settle the point before starting.
Within the hour, seven days a week, for any request reaching us between 8am and 10pm. It contains three things: a firm amount, a delivery date and, for an interpreting assignment, the language for which an interpreter is already confirmed. Nothing else will be added afterwards.
The price is built from the language combination, the subject field, the volume and the date you want. Two units of account live side by side: the source word for a plain translation, the 250-word page for a sworn translation, every page begun being payable. One detail counts on files that stretch over months: the translation memory finds passages already approved, and those drop out of the full rate on the next quote.
No, and the two are often confused. Legalisation concerns the sworn translator's signature: we take care of it, and it adds 3 to 5 working days to the stated deadline. The apostille, by contrast, authenticates the original document. For a Luxembourg document it is requested from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs; for a foreign document, from the authority of the issuing country. That step remains yours: the quote simply tells you whether your file is subject to it and which door to knock on.
No, never. A scan or a legible photograph is enough to work from, and the translation goes back by email. When the stamped paper copy is required, it travels by registered post, within the Grand Duchy and abroad alike. Your address changes nothing about the deadline.
Yes, and at the same price everywhere: travel is built into the hourly interpreting rate, with no mileage supplement, across the sixteen communes in our area. That holds for a hearing at the District Court, a signature in a notary's office in the capital, an interview at the Mersch town hall, a meeting on a Bettembourg site or site coordination at Belval. For a document to be translated the location does not even enter the equation: files move electronically and the stamped original goes by post.
It depends on the mode chosen. Simultaneous work in a booth needs 5 to 10 working days: two interpreters per language to assemble, equipment to transport, a control desk to install. A liaison assignment or a sworn assignment falls into place much faster, and 24 hours is enough for us in most combinations, including a hearing called for the following day.
It all depends on who reads it. In the Grand Duchy a record may have been drawn up in French or in German depending on the commune and on the period, and both versions carry equal weight here. The difficulty appears when the document leaves the country, or when an office expressly asks for one particular language. In either direction we produce the sworn version wanted, German into French or the reverse, without touching the structure of the record. Portuguese comes up almost as often: it is the civil status language of a large share of residents, and records issued in Portugal, Cape Verde or Brazil are part of our daily routine.
For as long as you want, and not a day more. Every translator and every interpreter in the network is bound by a confidentiality undertaking. Hosting is European and GDPR-compliant, and a simple request from you wipes everything. On a sensitive file we start by signing your own agreement, and the files are opened only afterwards.
Translation or interpreting, it is the same form and the same turnaround. The price quoted is the price you pay, with nothing added on the invoice.
